PCB design
In-house electrical and electronic design (analogue, SCR/thyristor firing, IGBT, microcontroller, PLC/HMI)
Board-level design as a service: the topologies designed in-house (analogue control, SCR and thyristor firing, IGBT stages), how a board is specified with a customer, and what is handed over.
Firmware
Embedded firmware development (control loops, PID, PLL, Modbus, phase-angle firing)
The control software itself: what the loop does between the measurement and the firing angle, how a setpoint is held, and what is configurable on site against what is fixed at design time. §1 pillar 1 claims firmware in-house; this is the paragraph that shows it.
IoT / SCADA
SCADA / Modbus RS-485 / 4-20 mA integration
The monitoring layer: what a unit reports, over which interfaces, and what an operator can do remotely against what still needs a visit. This is pillar 2 — 'digital by default' — made concrete.
Magnetics
Magnetics design and winding (pure copper, BSS-171 practice)
Transformer and choke design and winding, in-house: what is calculated at design time when a requirement falls outside the standard range, the BSS-171 practice the designs are built to, and what a buyer must state before a quote — purpose, rating in kVA, primary and secondary voltage and frequency, and the site environment. The shop can wind to 1.2 MW.
Enclosure engineering
Enclosure engineering: IP-20 to IP-66, powder coating, hot-dip galvanising, SS-316 / SS-316L
The division of responsibility: the client specifies the ingress rating and usually the dimensions, and what we calculate is the sheet gauge and material for the site environment — proposing our own dimensions only where the client's are not physically possible. Then the thermal consequence of sealing a unit rather than ventilating it, and which finish suits which environment.
Reverse engineering
Reverse engineering and drop-in replacement of imported units
The obsolete-electronics service: what is captured from an installed unit, what is retained (tank, magnetics, enclosure) and what is replaced, and how a drop-in replacement is verified against the original.
FAT and commissioning
Factory acceptance testing (FAT), commissioning and site support
What a factory acceptance test covers and who attends, and what commissioning on site involves — setpoints, alarm checks, handover documents. Describe the activity, never a site — and never how often a unit passes.
